Garage Doors in Hamilton – New Doors and Repairs
Hamilton is the administrative centre of South Lanarkshire. It sits on the M74 south-east of Glasgow, beside the Clyde, near Strathclyde Country Park and close to Motherwell, Bothwell, Blantyre and Uddingston. It's an old burgh with a long history, so the housing is varied. There are Victorian and Edwardian sandstone villas and terraces nearer the centre, large council-built and post-war areas like Hillhouse and Burnbank, and newer private estates around Earnock, Fairhill and Ferniegair.
That range of houses means a wide range of garages. Older villas sometimes have a detached garage or converted outbuilding with a non-standard opening, which can suit a side-hinged door or a made-to-measure up & over. Post-war semis usually have a standard single garage. The newer estates often have integral garages with fairly standard sizes, where sectional and electric roller doors are popular.
Hamilton customers often ask us about doors that won't lock properly, rusted bottom rails and seals on older steel doors, and whether a heavy timber door is worth repairing. Many also ask about electric doors for a parent or relative who finds a manual door hard to lift. We look at the whole door and give you straight advice. Sometimes a repair is all that's needed, and those come with our 2-year guarantee.
Prices (inc VAT & fitting): up & over from £900 · sectional from £1,450 · electric roller from £1,700. New doors carry a 10-year guarantee.

Common questions
My older house has an odd-sized garage opening. Can you still fit a new door?
Usually, yes. Side-hinged doors and made-to-measure up & over doors can suit openings that aren't a standard size. We'll measure properly at the free quote and tell you what will fit.
The bottom of my steel door is rusting. Is it worth fixing?
It depends how far it has gone. Light corrosion and a worn bottom seal can often be dealt with. If the panel itself has rusted through, a new door is usually better value, and we'll show you both prices.
Can you make my door electric for an older relative?
In most cases, yes. An electric roller or sectional door, or a motor added to a suitable existing door, means no lifting at all, and you can open it with a remote from the car or the house.
