Garage Doors in East Kilbride – New Doors and Repairs

East Kilbride was Scotland's first new town, designated in 1947, and it's now one of the largest towns in South Lanarkshire. It's built around distinct neighbourhoods such as The Murray, Westwood, Calderwood, Greenhills, St Leonards and Stewartfield, with newer development at Lindsayfield and Jackton. The main routes in are the A725 East Kilbride Expressway and the A726 towards Glasgow and the M77.
The housing makes the garage picture in East Kilbride different from most towns. The older new-town neighbourhoods have lots of terraced and semi-detached homes with garage courts or blocks of garages set away from the house. The later estates, like Stewartfield and Lindsayfield, have more detached and semi-detached homes with an attached or integral garage. So we see everything from a single door in a row of lock-ups to a double garage on a family home.
The questions we hear from East Kilbride reflect that. People with garages in a block or court often want a strong, secure door that's simple to lock, because it isn't right beside the house. Up & over and roller doors suit that well. On the newer estates the usual questions are about replacing a tired builder's door, adding an electric motor, or choosing a sectional door that fits a modern frontage. We'll measure up, explain the options and give you a fixed price.
Prices (inc VAT & fitting): up & over from £900 · sectional from £1,450 · electric roller from £1,700. Repairs carry a 2-year guarantee and new doors a 10-year guarantee.

Common questions

My garage is in a block away from the house. What's the most secure door?
A good steel up & over or roller door with a decent locking system is usually best for a detached lock-up. We can also replace just the lock or handle on an existing door if the rest of it is sound.
Can you put an electric door on a garage with no power?
An electric door needs a power supply. Garages in courts and blocks often don't have one, so a manual door is usually the practical choice there. Attached and integral garages normally have power close by.
Do you replace doors on double garages?
Yes. We can fit a single wide door or two separate doors, depending on the opening and the pier in the middle. We'll measure and advise at the free quote.
